Meet John

Hello Neighbor!

My name is John Jarrett, and I’m running for Woodbury City Council.

My wife and I have lived in Woodbury for almost 35 years. We have three adult children who have grown up in Woodbury, and four grandchildren. I have seen tremendous growth and incredible changes throughout the years living in Woodbury.

I have served two terms on the Woodbury Planning commission. I believe I have the unique skill set to ask the necessary questions to dig deeper and ensure our future development and services are best suiting the needs of ALL of Woodbury. As Woodbury continues to grow, it will become even more imperative that we’re making the best decisions for our community – whether that’s clean water, new amenities, development or enhancements to what we already have.

My many years as a businessman have afforded me the opportunity to work with companies and people of many cultures all over the world. I believe that my background gives me a unique perspective on finding new ways to foster strong relationships within the community. I know how to read a balance sheet and know when a project makes economic sense or not. I know the value of every dollar, and that we need to spend carefully, budget responsibly and make sure we are getting real value for our tax dollars. We need to do this while expanding our corporate base and bringing good jobs to the city.

I can make decisions that are right for Woodbury.
